Write for Us

Bring your knowledge, curiosity, and fresh perspective to our wellness community.

Good wellness content starts with thoughtful questions and clear answers. At MushCanyon, we want to help readers understand functional mushrooms, explore nutrition, and make informed choices about their everyday routines.

We welcome article pitches from writers, nutrition professionals, researchers, recipe creators, and wellness enthusiasts who can turn complex topics into useful, engaging content.

If you have an original idea and a commitment to accuracy, we’d love to hear from you.

Who Can Contribute?

You may be a good fit if you are:

  1. A freelance writer or blogger covering nutrition, mushrooms, or wellbeing.
  2. A qualified health or nutrition professional who enjoys educating readers.
  3. A researcher or science communicator who can explain findings in everyday language.
  4. A recipe developer who creates practical, enjoyable ways to use culinary mushrooms.
  5. A wellness enthusiast sharing a thoughtful personal experience, clearly distinguished from scientific evidence.

You don’t need a large following. A strong idea, clear writing, and reliable research matter most.

Topics We Welcome

Functional Mushrooms

Explore mushrooms such as Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps, Chaga, Turkey Tail, Shiitake, and Maitake. Articles might cover their history, traditional uses, composition, or current research.

Nutrition and Everyday Wellbeing

Share practical insights into balanced eating, dietary variety, and sustainable daily habits. Focus on realistic guidance readers can understand and use.

Understanding Supplements

Help readers interpret ingredient labels, understand serving sizes, and ask useful questions about sourcing, extraction methods, and product testing.

Mushroom Recipes and Kitchen Guides

Submit original recipes, preparation tips, storage advice, and cooking guides featuring edible culinary mushrooms.

Science Explained Simply

Take a research question and explain what the evidence shows, what remains uncertain, and why the distinction matters.

Personal Stories

Share an honest experience involving food, mushrooms, or building a wellness routine. Personal stories should avoid presenting individual results as outcomes everyone can expect.

What We Look For

Original ideas
Your submission should be your own work, with a clear perspective and a useful purpose for the reader. Tell us if it has appeared elsewhere or is being considered by another publication.

Clear, approachable writing
Write for curious everyday readers. Explain technical terms, use descriptive headings, and keep paragraphs easy to follow.

Credible supporting sources
Support scientific and health-related statements with reliable references. Where possible, link to original research and distinguish human studies from animal or laboratory findings.

Balanced coverage
Explain limitations alongside promising findings. Avoid exaggerated benefits, guaranteed results, and claims that foods or supplements cure, treat, or prevent diseases.

Practical value
Give readers something worth taking away: a clearer explanation, a useful recipe, a thoughtful question, or a manageable everyday habit.

Suggested Article Format

For most educational articles, aim for 800–1,500 words. A shorter piece may suit a focused question, while a detailed guide may need more space.

Please include:

  1. A clear working title.
  2. A short introduction explaining why the topic matters.
  3. Helpful subheadings.
  4. Links to sources near the claims they support.
  5. A brief conclusion with practical takeaways.
  6. A short author bio and any relevant qualifications.

For recipes, include ingredient quantities, servings, preparation and cooking times, numbered instructions, and relevant allergen information. Please identify nutrition figures as estimates if you include them.

Content That Isn’t a Fit

We’re unlikely to accept:

  1. Copied, plagiarized, or lightly rewritten articles.
  2. Unsupported medical claims or promises of dramatic results.
  3. Content encouraging readers to replace prescribed treatment with supplements.
  4. Articles written mainly to promote unrelated products or insert backlinks.
  5. Misleading testimonials, invented credentials, or fabricated references.
  6. Mushroom identification or foraging advice that could encourage unsafe consumption.

Please disclose any financial relationships, affiliate links, gifted products, or other interests relevant to your article.

How to Pitch Your Idea

You’re welcome to send a pitch before writing the full article. In your email, include:

  2. A short outline explaining the main points.
  3. Why it would interest MushCanyon readers.
  4. A brief introduction with relevant experience or qualifications.
  5. Links to writing samples, if available.

Submitting a pitch or draft does not guarantee acceptance. Any payment, author credit, permitted links, and publication rights should be agreed in writing before publication.
